  • 「一生」は throughout our lives または as long as we live で表せます

Memories of how we felt ... stay with us と開きます。how we felt が感情の中身を受け、stay with us as long as we live が強さを結果で示します。 so strong that ...

Memories of how deeply we were moved and how excited we felt while reading books as children are so strong that they stay with us as long as we live.

別解

What we felt when books moved and excited us in childhood can remain in our minds throughout our lives.

Children were exciting when they read books.
Children were excited when they read books.

Children moved when they read books.
Children were moved when they read books.

Memory of reading books stays with us for life.
Memories of reading books stay with us for life.

stay with us as long as we live記憶が残ることを動作で示せます
remain in our minds throughout our lives説明的で正確です

  • 「未知の世界」は what they do not yet know と節に開けます
  • 「本の世界で生きる」は enter and live in the world of a book と比喩を保ちます

unknown worlds でも通じますが、what they do not yet know とすれば「未知」の中身が明快です。Because children are curious ... and can imagine ... と理由を先に置き、結果の can almost live inside a book へつなぎます。

Children are freshly curious about what they do not yet know and have rich imaginations, so they can almost live inside the world of a book and understand how its people feel.

別解

Because children want to know about new worlds and can imagine them clearly, they can enter a book and feel as if they were living there.

Children are curious for worlds they do not know.
Children are curious about worlds they do not know.

Children have many imaginations, so they can enter the world of books.
Children have rich imaginations, so they can enter the world of books.

Children can live in books because they are curious.
Children can almost live inside the world of a book.

Children can live in the world of a book because they are curious about new things.
Children can live in the world of a book because they are curious and have rich imaginations.

what children do not yet know節に開いて意味を明確にできます
almost live inside the world of a bookalmost と world of a book によって、物理的ではない没入の比喩だと示せます
feel as if they were living in the story現実ではない感覚を as if で明示する安全な別解です

  • 「成長して」は when they grow up と時を示します

experience shows power と直訳せず、such experiences may help them in ways they did not expect と、誰にどんな効果があるかを動詞で書きます。思わぬは in ways they did not expect という what に近い説明の発想で処理できます。

When they grow up and face different kinds of difficult times, such experiences may help them in ways they did not expect.

別解

Later in life, when they meet many problems, what they experienced through books can give them more strength than they expected.

When children grow themselves, they face many difficult times.
When children grow up, they face many difficult times.

Their experience of reading books are sometimes helpful later.
Their experience of reading books is sometimes helpful later.

Such experiences always help children when they face hard times.
Such experiences may help children when they face hard times.

help them in ways they did not expect効果を節で説明できます
may ...
can sometimes ...
always ...
on occasion ...

Memories of how deeply we were moved and how excited we felt while reading books as children are so strong that they stay with us as long as we live. Children are freshly curious about what they do not yet know and have rich imaginations, so they can almost live inside the world of a book and understand how its people feel. When they grow up and face different kinds of difficult times, such experiences may help them in ways they did not expect.

how deeply we were moved、how excited we felt、what they do not yet know、how its people feel

What we felt when books moved and excited us in childhood can remain in our minds throughout our lives. Children want to learn about what is still new to them, and they can imagine how life in a book looks and feels. Because of these qualities, they can feel as if they really lived in that world. Later, when they face hard times as adults, what they learned and felt through books may give them strength in ways they never expected.

と feel as if ... 「思わぬ力」も give them strength in ways they never expected と効果を説明すれば十分です。

face〜に直面するface to a problem とはせず、face difficult times のように困難を直接目的語にします
throughout〜の間ずっとthroughout of our lives とはしません。
in ways one did not expect思いもしなかった形で経験が後の本人をどう助けるかまで動詞で説明できる逃げ道です
